Hey jBPM Community,

I was wondering if non-interrupting start events for event subprocesses will be implemented in jBPM 6 in the near feature? I have seen the option in Designer (isInterrupting) but can't change it. I have read that it's on the roadmap, but could not find any other information on it. An ETA would be awesome :)

event sub processes and not interrupting start events as part of such sub processes will be supported in 6.0. And 6.0 is now a matter of weeks. Preview of that can already be seen as part of  CR releases available in JBoss nexus. I encourage you to give it a try and see if it supports what you need.

Yeah trying to test those right now, however some error messages in the way:

"Failed to start service jboss.deployment.unit."jbpm-console-6.0.0.CR1.war".WeldService: org.jboss.msc.service.StartException in service jboss.deployment.unit."jbpm-console-6.0.0.CR1.war".WeldService: org.jboss.weld.exceptions.DefinitionException: WELD-000047 Specializing bean must extend another bean:  Managed Bean [class org.jbpm.formModeler.service.bb.mvc.components.SessionAwareLocaleManager] with qualifiers [@Any @Default]"

But I will figure that out eventually ;)

So I figured out the installer problem and I am test driving RC1. Looks really nice! A lot snappier than the beta5.

However, non-interrupting start events don't seem to be supported by designer yet, as there is no option to set (actually the option was there in Beta 5 but wasn't changeable). Hope that will still be included in the official final release :)

Another question I have would be about the repository management. What I would like to do, is set up a repository outside of the app, so that I can easily switch to the never version of jbpm without loosing my processes. I think in Beta 5 I could create my own repository, the option seems to be gone in RC1.

Alex, good to hear you like it.

Do you mind opening jira for designer and non interrupting start events? That way we could include that in 6.0

When it comes to repository creation it's still there, you just need to add user to group ADMIN (case sensitive) and then you'll get menu option to create repositories. Additionally there is a small command line tool called kie-config-cli that allows some administration tasks as well. It's part of kie-wb-distributions.
